A gentle, heart-centred way back to yourself.
A gentle mind-body approach designed to support emotional wellbeing, self-awareness and a greater sense of inner balance.
Emotional Freedom Techniques, commonly known as EFT or Tapping, is a gentle mind-body approach designed to support emotional wellbeing, self-awareness and a greater sense of inner balance.
EFT brings together focused attention, compassionate self-inquiry and gentle tapping with the fingertips on specific points on the face and upper body. These points correspond to locations used within traditional acupuncture and acupressure systems, while the practice itself also draws upon principles associated with modern psychology.
At its heart, EFT is an invitation to meet yourself exactly where you are, not with judgement or resistance, but with curiosity, kindness and compassion.
During an EFT session, we gently bring awareness to a particular feeling, thought, memory, belief or experience while tapping with the fingertips on a sequence of points on the body. Rather than pushing uncomfortable emotions away, EFT creates an opportunity to acknowledge what is present while remaining connected to the here and now. You are not asked to force yourself to let go, think positively or pretend that something does not hurt. Instead, EFT encourages us to recognise our experience honestly and compassionately.
An EFT session is not about somebody else deciding what you need to change. It is a collaborative process in which your experience, your boundaries and your pace are honoured. There is no requirement to tell every detail of your story. There is no need to push yourself into an experience before you feel ready.
None of this needs to be tidy or explainable before you arrive.
Complementary therapy supports wellbeing alongside medical care. No outcome is promised, and nothing here is a substitute for advice from your GP or specialist.
EFT is done seated and fully clothed. There is nothing to undress for and nothing to prepare.
EFT is a complementary approach to wellbeing. It is not a replacement for appropriate medical or psychological assessment, diagnosis or treatment, particularly where significant physical or mental health concerns are present.
If you are currently working through significant trauma, EFT can be a supportive addition to your care, and it works best alongside appropriate clinical support rather than instead of it.
